Classic Car Weekly

The latest two editions of Classic Car Weekly really fly the flag for the Forgotten Marque that is STANDARD.

On the front page there is the lead THE 45 CLASSIC MARQUES YOU CAN’T TAX ON LINE.

Inside on page 3 Our own DVLA rep Dennis Brown stated that he was aware of club members who had encountered problems because ‘STANDARD’ is not recognised by the DVLA websites’ drop down list of manufacturers. Every time this is raised with them the reply is STANDARD cannot be added to the database because it is too hard to do so.

The Federation of British Historic Vehicles is encouraging owners who have encountered problems with the DVLAs’ online service to get in touch.

In the next issue our Magazine Editor Steve O’Hara visited the Coventry Transport Museum which is undergoing a major rebuild only to find not a single STANDARD anywhere!

Finally there is an advert for this years’ London to Brighton Classic Car run featuring our own Publicity Officer Darrell Cunningham in his 1939 Standard which  he has again entered for the run from Greenwich Park to Brighton on May 31st in aid of charity.

It is worth getting this Paper every week as it is full of interesting articles & features. It comes out every Wednesday.
