Upton House & Gardens

Vintage Transport Weekend

18th & 19th June from 11am

We would like to invite your members to Upton House and Gardens near Banbury for our Pre-1950’s Vintage Transport display this coming summer, with free entry to the House and Gardens.

Andrew Overton of the National Trust is organising a Vintage Transport weekend on Saturday 18th/Sunday 19th June 2016 for the second year, to complement the work that has been done to transform Upton House showing  how it looked during World War II as the HQ of the family’s merchant bank (as well as being a home of Lord and Lady Bearsted).

Ideally the display should consist of a wide variety of makes with perhaps only 3 or 4 vehicles from each make (so not a whole club). So our request is for volunteers from your members please?  It would be an excellent opportunity to visit splendid Upton House with its fabulous garden.  Volunteers can be part of the display on either or both days and free admission is offered. It promises to be a very pleasant weekend and great fun if last year is anything to go by.

If some of your members are able to take their vehicle to one or both of the days of that weekend, then could they please contact Andrew Overton on 01295 671114 or andrew.overton@nationaltrust.org.uk as soon as possible, leaving a contact phone number as he is keen to establish how many vehicles will be attending each day.
